Two live performances from his years as head of the Cleveland Orchestra.

Brahms' Piano Quartet in G minor, orchestrated by Schoenberg (the latter keeps the original melodies & harmonies, but uses the orchestra to clarify the textures of Brahms' music). A performance from 1989.

Alfred Schnittke: (K)ein Sommernachtstraum". This is a set of variations on Schnitkke's own "Gratulationsrondo", a piece in Mozartian style. It includes a fugue and a rowdy march, becoming increasingly uproarious, until the orchestra reaches a shocking climax, then the minuet returns. Recorded on January 12th 1995
